Environmental Portraits

The choice of location is dependent upon its accessibility or personal taste of the couple and/or photographer. However sometimes there is no choice when the entire wedding day is hold in one location

The wedding on March 29 was a good an example how to use the appropriate surroundings to not know what to expect from Bride & Groom.I Like it when I have no idea what to expect from bride and groom When the are no preconceived notions,I have to stay on my toes..........
The photo shoot and the reception hold place in "The Tides" Timing is was very important as part of photo shoot on the wedding day so We had to give ourselves enough time to "make "the good pictures we wanted and still get the couple to the reception on time .This can be very difficult sometimes ,that way it's good to work with environment round to find great light and location and work as best as quickly we could with the conditions that prevail , The location should not be too far from the church or the catering hall, spending time for extra long travel on the different locations it is very often wrong decision another words waste of time. .............

The environment may influence the mood and fillings.I am always treating the location as a set that reflects the couple's feelings .The beauty of nature and the light can communicate tenderness ,warmth ,hope ,strength or humor .To crate my own workflow I love to use the simple things during the shooting to not complicate the good meanings of final image .When I am taking the pictures I have aim of bland the bride and the groom with they surroundings. They can relate to the landscape ,to each other or to industrial scenery ,but they should be the focal point of the composition. Many environmental fail when the couple stands or setting on the middle of pained fake backdrop or on the center of the gazebo.
A wood fence ,bench ,rocks or old ripping house or shop all can be used as a posing element/background to create the great emotion of Bride & Groom to help the subject a relate more directly to their environment .The couple can lean against a tree trunk ,look at its blooming flowers or standing on the rocks giving the appropriate character and powerful sense of image.

Keep in mind the environment portraits are an option for you when time and location allow .Don't feel that they have to be part of the wedding coverage ,although they certainly add a nice touch to any couple's album

Slow Shutter speed combined with flash ,with handheld camera ,creates this dynamic expression of movement and joy .The guests seems to be elevating off the dance floor.
High energy, fun and a rockin’ hold place on the wedding on March 29 in The Tides North NJ with the "Benjamin Band"
Those guys made the full party time enjoyable .there was non stop music combined with non stop dancing ,therefore the cutting cake & and other entertainments have been canalled .The Wedding cake had been cut in the kitchen .......:)

Historic Route 66

Have you enjoyed your travel down old Route 66?
-We have!.
We have only done a small part of "66"
There was a lot of fun and an adrenaline a specially if you do not know what is next , when you are driving without the map or running out of gas ,looking for a help on the middle of nowhere....
Be prepared to do some challenging driving on this road. In the old days, many folks would hire locals to either drive their cars for them over the Black Mountains or to get their carsOur ride down Route 66 from Kingman to Oatman was breathtaking. High and narow in the mountains stop at one of the pullovers and look out over the valley. It's so quiet you feel like you have to whisper. Oatman itself is a "must see" experience if you have the time to drive there. river near Needles, California.
There are just a few posted images from over 1000pix taken ot this trip .

Take a look! this is very cool annual event . IT starts a Seligman ends on Topock http://www.azrt66.com/

KINGMAN to OATMAN

Kingman to Oatman, a Route 66 historic road takes you on a winding journey through old Route 66 days and ends up in a town full of burros, tourists and dance hall girls.
The Town of Oatman was named in honor of Olive Oatman, who was kidnapped as a young girl by Mojave Indians and later rescued in 1857 near the current site of the town. Oatman was served by a narrow gauge rail line between 1903 and 1905 that ran 17 miles to the Colorado.
Arizona has the longest stretch of Route 66 still maintained today and you can visit many interesting towns on the trip besides Oatman and Kingman, such as Seligman, and Williams.
Wehen you are in Oatman Take a walk down Main Street. Here you will see the local saloon, general store, stop by the old Oatman Hotel and see where Clark Gable and Carol Lombard spent their honeymoon, or see the gunfightersshoot it out.

There was so much fun in Seligman.

cold beer with a new friends from Seligman made us laugh
To us, Seligman seemed to preserve the best of the fun days of Route 66. We had to get out of our car and explore Seligman on foot.......We have made some new friends.........so if you are there get definitely in touch with Seligman citizens :))
"Black Cat Bar" you cannot miss it !

checking in next day

Seligman's a one-street town if there ever was one. The names Chino Street, Main Street, and Historic Route 66 are used interchangeably.
As We drove down Route 66, evidence of the glory days of the old road could be seen all along the main street. Motels such as the Aztec across the street from the famous Snow Cap, with its quirky tongue and cheek menu, cafes such as the Copper Cart and 66 Road Kill, and numerous Route 66 gift shops were all survivors of the Mother Road.

Four days in San Francisco

One of the Best Diners we have ever been! the accent of 50s.
You can find two other downtown locations on Mason and Sutter streets. A retro menu and a decor to match makes a comfortable place to dine alone or with family and friends. Music from the 50s plays in the background and the memorabilia from the era decorates the walls. Happy Days worthy meals include the LA Burger cheese.............Recomended!

AZ

The Red Rock Canyon area is, arguably, the most beautiful area in Nevada—perhaps the southwest. Whether you are a rock climber, a hiker, a rock hound, or just appreciate the beauty of wild horses, bighorn sheep, and wild burros roaming free, this part of Nevada is just for you
